Digital route sheet for buses and coaches.

Prepare the details of the carrier, contracting party, driver, bus and service. Issue the route sheet as a PDF with a QR code and give the copy to the driver.

See how it works

Preparing, issuing and delivering the route sheet.

  1. Choose or repeat

Start a new sheet or use a previous service. Your usual details are already saved.

  2. Check and issue

Confirm the date, route, nature of the service, driver and bus. Complete the applicable references and issue the document before the service actually starts.

  3. Deliver the copy

The driver may carry an electronic or printed copy, with a QR code in both cases. The QR code downloads the PDF directly without authentication.

Route sheet details.

Article 2 of Order FOM/1230/2013 sets out the contents of the route sheet. The carrier must check the details of each service.

Amendments during the service.

If the driver, bus or other service details change, amend the sheet and state the reason. The PDF retains the previous details marked as no longer valid and keeps the same link and QR code. You must give the updated copy to the driver.

Repeat creates an independent draft for another service or shipment. Amend updates the issued document for the existing service or shipment.

Scope of application

The route sheet is required for buses used for passenger transport for hire or reward, subject to the exemptions in Article 1 of Order FOM/1230/2013 for certain general and special regular services. The term 'school transport' does not in itself determine an exemption; the service, authorisation and vehicle must be checked.
